为适用不同特殊研究需求，作为对引用较多的神经元细胞培养添加剂的改动，B-27添加剂（去除胰岛素）是初始 B-27添加剂（不含胰岛素）的订制版本。B-27 去除胰岛素添加剂是一种无血清添加剂，设计用于支持在存在胰岛素的情况下会引起干扰的应用中海马和其他 CNS 神经元的生长。B-27 去除胰岛素添加剂以 50X 液体形式提供，预期与 Neurobasal 培养基或 Neurobasal-A 培养基配合使用。
